BMW's already have the ability to hook up your iPod to the car!! It's really cool, but alas, I do not own a BMW to take advantage of such new fangled technologies.
I can't afford a new car, even though i probably should get one (mine is 13 years old),so it's not like i was factoring it into my short term plans. Still, it would be nice if car companies implimented them on a wide scale. Specifically, i'm thinking of a Honda Accord. C'mon Honda.
I would personally prefer an "audio in" a car then USB. Then you can directly feed into the car whatever you like. Shoot, maybe I should do that and put in a turntable. That would be practicale. No skipping there.
Right now I have the iTrip which broadcasts music from my iPod to a FM station. That usually works well, but it depends on the car you are in. I use it in my rental car in NC everyweek, certian GM cars it does not work very well in. Stupid GM.
Yes, stupid American cars. When will they build quality?
I recently read an article in The Times about the iTrip. Right now, i use a casette tape converter, because my car only has a cassette player. It's find, but it reduces the sound quality to cassette level.

Someday I'll be able to afford a BMW. Or an iPod. Or shoes.
