Thanks Global Warming

Overall, the temperature this winter has been above normal. The usual cold snaps have come for sure, but in general it has been warmer than normal.

My furnace has had to run less because of this, translating into savings for me.

Huh. Ruining the environment has a plus side.

What the Hizzle?

Apparently, I like watching shop at home television.

It's a puzzle to me because I have no intention of buying any of the products showcased. Also, even though I only have basic cable, there are usually other things to watch, such as CNN. But, for whatever reason, I like it.

Maybe I enjoy watching the salespeople make their pitches. Maybe I like to see the cavalcade of goods.

Digital cameras, comforters, ladders, pots and pans...fun.

Peter's Book Club

I'm not in the habit of recommending books, nor will I be in the future, but I liked this book and wanted to share it.

If there were one overall theme of my life, It would be "self improvement," meaning bettering yourself and becoming more than you are. This ethic is applied to every aspect of life: intellectually, physically, spiritually, culturally, etc.

I think that is why I liked this book. It profiles people who took what they were given in life and made their lives, as well as others, richer in all those aspects. Some of the people profiled are famous, some are unknown, but they all exhibited a certain character quality by overcoming trial and hardship.

Therefore, the first (and possibly only) selection in Peter's Book Club is Character is Destiny.

Read it.

Bow Down to the Power of my Immune System

The three other people in the office have all succumed to illnesses of varying degrees in the last few weeks. The only person who has not fallen ill is...anyone?...., that's right, me.

Bow down to the power of my immune system. Of course you know what this now means. I will be getting sick presently.

What I'm listening to:

Fool in the Rain - O.A.R.
Soundtrack to the movie, Because of Winn Dixie
There's A Place For Us - Phil Collins

Making Your Commute More Interesting (And Fun)

These road rage driving cards were featured on CNN a few days ago. They are to be used by irritated drivers to express what the driver can't otherwise easily communicate.

My favorite is "I Wish This Was Real {image of a gun}."

My second favorite is "Nice Car (you're Still a Bitch)."

My third favorite is "Stop Littering You Disrespectful Piece of Shit."

p.s. Check out the banner ad at the bottom of the page. I'm certain that it is the funniest online ad I've come across.
