USB Ports for Cars Revisited

In my July 23 post, I wrote about my desire for car companies to install USB ports in cars so that portable devices like the iPod can be played directly through the car's speaker system, without any degradation in sound quality that occurs with devices like cassette tape adapters.

I am glad to see that at least one car company considers this to be an important selling point.

A Great Idea

Columbus has a great idea to encourage alternate forms of transportation within the city, which is good, because traffic and congestion are major problems. There has also been talk about a light rail system that would service the most densely populated area of town (from downtown north through campus and up to I-270, the outerbelt).

Great ideas. If only we could get more cities in Ohio, and elsewhere, to look for alternatives to cars.

Observation

I feel uncomfortable around white walls and lighter colored walls. I feel more comfortable and relaxed around walls that are painted in darker shades.

Brent, in his blog, passed along a series of questions to answer regarding book habits. I will try to answer them below.

1. Number of books I [have] own[ed]: Most of my books are in my parent's attic so I can't count them, but I think I have about 80-90.

2. Last book I bought: I'm pretty frugal, and so I don't usually buy books. The last book I received as a gift was "Bright Lights, Big City" by Jay McInerney.

3. Last book I completed: In Praise of Slowness: how a worldwide movement is challenging the cult of speed, by Carl Honore

4. Ten books that mean a lot to me: I'll have to think about this one

5. What I'm currently reading: - Owning Your Own Shadow: understanding the dark side of your psyche , by Robert A. Johnson

A Good Verse

Putting aside my major objections with religion, I think this may be my favorite Bible verse:

"Test everything. Hold on to the good." - 1 Thessalonians 5:21
